Today we are going to talk about some fun facts about birds flying and some common information about amazing birds.


#1). Flamingos


Flamingos pair for life some stay with their meat for up to 50 years. Its color is pink or white for pinkness. It is a large size bird and is about 90 cm high. Four species of flamingos live in the Americas (North and South America continents) and two in Africa, Asia and Europe.


#2). Woodpeckers 

Woodpeckers can identify each others distinctive drumming on trees. The speed of bending of woodpecker is 20 times per hundred and it keeps dying on beak trees 8000 to 12000 times per day. The small woodpecker is found in South America, Africa and Asia, which is 3-4 inches in length.


#3). Duck

The duck spends most of his life living in water. It is found in pond, lake and river etc. When Ducks nap is groups, the birds on the perimeter sleep with one eye open, that way they are never caught off guard by predators. Ducks have a lifespan of about 10 years.


#4). Pigeon

The pigeon is considered to be the oldest domesticated bird in the world. Pigeons delivered the result of the Olympic games in ancient Greek. According to scientists, the pigeons of the Homing species used to fly 1600 km from their place and return without wandering the path.


#5). Hummingbird

The Hummingbird is the only bird in the world that can fly backwards. The average Hummingbird weighs less that a nickel. The hummingbird has a bill that is longer then its entire body. The male humming bird has a purple color. Which is at the top and bottom of its neck. The tongue of a humming bird is half a meter higher than the tongue of a human and it can drink up to half a liter of water in 1 second.


#6). Owls 

Owls live on every continent with the exception of Antarctica. Since owls can't swivel their eyes, they move their head all the way around to see behind them. Owl is the only bird that can see blue color.


#7). Parrot

The African Grey Parrot is the most talkative bird in the world, while other of species of parrot can say 50 words. The African grey parrot can able to learn up to 800 different utterance. Like humans, parrots also suffer from obesity. The world's smallest parrot 'Pygmy' is the size of our finger.


#8). Raven(Crow)

Raven is quite large in size, about 27 inches. Raven can weigh from 12 to 57 ounces (337 to 1625 grams). Ravens are also know as crow. The smallest species of crow in the world is Dwarf Jay of Mexico. It is 20–23 cm in length and weighs only 41 grams. Ravens are also great at mimicking human speech sometimes ever better than parrots.


#9). Ostriches 

Ostriches have the largest eyes of any land animal about the size of a brilliant ball ostrich eyes are larger than their brain. The ostrich is the heaviest and tallest bird in the world with a weight of 320 pounds and height up to 9 feet. Despite being a bird, the ostrich cannot fly. This is due to the excessive weight of his body. Its wings are also very small, which extends up to about 2 meters.


#10). Pelican

A Pelican's beak can hold up to 2.5 gallons of water. Often this bird is seen near the water and he also likes to stay near the water.
